Metz, France

So we took our first day trip over the border to France. We went to Metz it is the first biggest city over the border about 1.5 hours away. There isn't a whole lot of "tourist" stuff to do, but we wanted to go and see some French culture. They do have a beautiful cathedral, which is the tallest in France. It has very pretty and lots of stained glass all throughout the church. I read Metz also has a modern art museum, but that really isn't our thing...especially with the kids :)
We walked around the city and had lunch. We ended up ordering the 2 things on the menu that we could read. Pizza and panini! The pizza had an egg (over easy) on top. Preston thought it was the best thing and wants to have eggs on our pizza at home now.
We then stopped and had a Nutella crepe...very yummy.
On the drive back we stopped at the French version of super Walmart...Cora. A very neat store we will be going back. We picked up some things....baguette, cheeses, chocolate croissants, wine, fresh shrimp. and raspberry beer :)

  1. Thanks for posting something....we were wondering what has been going on with you guys!!!!

On another note, we were getting toys ready to go to goodwill, and I wanted to take the wooden train set. Simone says we can't because Preston likes playing with it too much, and he will miss it when he comes to play next.
