Innsburck, Austria

I don't know why this is underlining and I can't fix it so.......
A few weeks ago we went to Austria with some friends. The mountains were beautiful. I wasn't sure what to expect of the Alps and if I was going to be impressed.....growing up with mountains all around and Mt. Rainer as a view every day, but I was in awe. It probably helped that we had the best weather.
Innsbruck is a ski town. The funicular (railway on the side of the mountain) to reach the top is just a few mins walk away. We took the funicular and then 2 cable cars to get to the top of the peak. It was so pretty. Halfway up the mountain is a Zoo built in to the side of hill. It was neat place with lots of local animals.
We had some great food and yummy gelato, shaped like flowers. On the way home we stopped at Riedel crystal factory. We took a quick tour watching them make the wine glasses.
Had a great weekend and looking forward to going to Salzburg, Austria before we leave.

View from the front of the hotel and the "famous" golden roof. I didn't get what was so special about it.

Happy New Year!

Hope everyones year is filled with good times, good health, love and happiness.

Kids had a great time ringing in the new year. They were both up until midnight!!
I'm not sure who Cassidy looks like here?? But she has changed so much the past few months.

Better late than never

I can't believe that it is almost Feb. These past few months have flown by. Here are a few pictures from Christmas. Seems like forever ago, even though Preston asked me daily when is Santa coming again.

Decorating the tree
We looked at 4 different place for a decent tree and ended up finding one at the next village over. Alot of the real xmas tress here are not your typical tree you find in the states they are more "natural" as Justin says. Kind of Charlie Brown if you ask me :) But I ended up liking it....and it didn't really matter the kids were thrilled. I still miss my fake tree.

Always need to have a bit of Hawaii with us where ever we go.
Our Christmas morning started out with Cassidy in time out!

Fighting over a gift....it just begun.
Cute vets from grandma and grandpa.

Snow!

I'm really slow getting pictures up this month. The ones of the kids sledding are from the beginning of December when we really didn't have that much snow compared to Christmas time. The german houses look so cute with the snow, but I'm ready for it to melt! We have had snow since Thanksgiving and even the kids are sick of it! But it is suppose to warm up and rain this week and I'm sure I will be wishing for more snow :)
Cassidy's favorite activity....eating snowJustin getting his work out ....I'm doing this when he is at work :)
